Planning a series look
Readers who liked book one look for book two in the same visual family. A series look keeps the layout, type and some color logic fixed and changes one element per book, usually the main image or a color. We set those rules up front, so later books are faster to design and the set looks planned on a shelf or a store page.
If your first book already has a cover you like, we can build the system from it. If it doesn't fit the rest of the series, we can redesign book one at the same time so the set matches.
Audiobook covers
Audiobook stores use a square image. A tall ebook cover doesn't fit a square by cropping, because the title and image end up in the wrong place. We rebuild the layout for the square shape, keeping the same art and type so readers recognize the book.
Cover refreshes
Genre conventions change over the years. If an older book's cover now looks dated next to current bestsellers, a refresh keeps what still works and updates type, color or image. The book keeps its title and ISBN for the same edition; ask your publishing platform how a new cover affects your listing.
Questions
Can you design a series before all the books are written?
Yes. We set the system with the first one or two books and the planned titles, and design later covers when each book is ready.
Do you make box set images?
Yes, as a flat image or a 3D mockup for store listings. Ask in your brief.
Have a manuscript ready? Tell us the genre, the trim size and the page count, and where the book will be sold.
